Wake up, put coffee on, open email, reply to work emails, instant message with one client while on phone call with another, remember I have a hike commitment this afternoon, get text from her saying she may be a little late, remember Thanksgiving is tomorrow, don’t reply to text yet, still on phone, reply to text from earlier, check calendar for date to finish flooring by, look for pants, haphazardly unpack suitcase, remember I need to book my next out of town trip, look for recipes for tomorrow’s appetizer, make grocery list, brush teeth while folding towels, reply to more work emails, get packages ready to bring to UPS, get tools out to install new flooring, put ink in printer….
This morning my ‘mole hill’ grew into a ‘mountain’ real fast!
Seriously, that was my mountain this morning before 9am. Emotionally, it felt like it was nearly as high as the highest peak in the world! Do you ever feel that way? Here we are in the throes of holiday times where obligations and life’s everyday juggling seems to feel multiplied by a thousand! My mountain could have kept growing if it weren’t for a friend’s phone call and a reminder to me that I need to S-L-O-W D-O-W-N! Sometimes our own voice in our head loses track of reset mode.
I promise, this IS related to Outsiety.
My involvement with Outsiety has allowed for so many new friendships that go beyond the surface. Even though we are choosing only one new BadAssador right now, I want to remind everyone I’ve met, that I think you are ALL BADASS! No lie!
We are an incredible network of women that charges the outdoors---with or without experience. Ladies getting outside with freedom of inhibition, full of encouragement from camaraderie, and appreciating that being outdoors in fresh air help keep our mole hill from becoming mountains!
Outsiety is made of friends, sisters, daughters, mothers that are everyday ladies who love the outdoors and outdoor adventures! We remind one another we can conquer the mountain outside as well as that mountain in our heads that is work, family, or any ‘crisis of the day’. Through our existing and new friendships, we can build a bond that reminds us to reach out and check in on one another and be that calming factor if needed!
I am honored to be part of this group and would love to see it recognized and initiated in other places! It means so much to me that there are so many ladies that look forward to our adventures and show up even if they initially don’t know anyone!
To all ‘Weekend Warriors’, ‘Dawn Patrol Ski-hill Hikers’, ‘Trail Crushers’, etc, in support of Outsiety …let’s expose ourselves!!! Ummmm, well, rephrase…will you get on board and post some fun videos or images showing your outdoor adventures with other ladies?
SIMPLE, On Facebook, Instagram or other social media, just include #Outsiety or #OutsietyCrew when you post.
In the meantime, bring your experience, newbie-ness, eagerness, smiles, encouragement and let’s all prevent mole hills from becoming mountains and get outside!
