We’re looking forward to putting together more runs soon!

Here in Whitefish we’re incredibly lucky to have access to over 25 miles of trails that start right in town. We took advantage of this great resource the week before Thanksgiving with our first Ladies Trail Run at the Lion Mountain Trail. An awesome group of ladies (and dogs) showed up, ranging from experienced distance runners to relative beginners. We decided to split up into a few groups for 2, 3, and 4 mile runs. Then we all met back up at the trailhead for snacks and hydration (thanks Hammer Nutrition!). I’m always on the look out for recipes for good workout and recovery snacks, and because my family is currently trudging our way through a 25 pound bag of pinto beans, I’ve been searching for interesting ways to use beans. Our run group seemed like a great guinea pig for Dulce de Frijol (bean candy) that I’d been wanting to try. With a good ratio of protein and simple carbs, and a nice orangey flavor they turned out to be a good post run treat! Find the recipe HERE.
